Happy 2011! And random things

Lol. The 70's. My mom's quote: "Everyone was either 6 years old or 40, and they were all stupid." (I apologize for the text slang but I mean... That was my reaction.)

Just a by the way, the 'o' key on the keyboard on this computer is nearly broken. I feel like Paul Sheldon in Misery. So I either miss it all the time or I go back through and fill in the blanks. Sorry if I miss one..

I spent this New Year's Eve in Albequerque New Mexico, and I watched Black Swan (with my parents... avoid that if you can...). Wow. Amazingly moving and creepy movie. Natalie Portman did such an impressively gorgeous job. Yes I do have a bit of a celebrity crush. But her character was amazing. *SPOILER ALERT* She killed herself for something she loved so passionately it needed to be perfect. *SPOILER OVER*

I'll post New Year's Resolutions when I a) think of them and b) give myself time to write them down.

This is a picture of my kitty I took a while ago, Sophie. She has a weird eye that is always boogery, and we should have named her Winky. Still. Adorable. It's a pretty good shot too, the light was cool

I was just flipping through channels aaaanndd... Twilight Zone marathon. Yes! I don't care if it's old, it's still scary...

And The Stand is playing soon too. One of my top three Stephen King books. The other two are Misery and Dead Zone. Sometimes his writing style gets on my nerves just the slightest bit (Mr. King, have you ever had an editor tell you to cut back on the details?) but those three are truly fantastic. I'm listening to Under the Dome on CD and... It's good, but its a bit too much at times.

And truly, I'm not the kind of person who likes bloodshed and I believe that murder and killing can and should be avoided at all costs. But Big Jim Rennie needs to have his brains blown out. Good god. His whole f***ing fascist dictatorship needs to END.

HE GOT A BONER FROM CRUSHING RUSTY'S HAND. WHAT. WHAT.

...I need to finish this book so I'm not so emotional all the time. I had a bit of a freak out when I was driving with my dad because I was so mad at, yes, fictional characters. Wow. Get a life.

South Park:
Lady in crowd:  "What's wrong with their heads??"
Man next to her: "It's okay, their Canadian."

Dear god. South Park, how I love your obscenity. And really, anyone who's ever driven through South Park Colorado knows that there is less there then it exhibits in the show. A gas station, cows, maybe a Subway, cows, some houses miles and miles away from the highway, cows, a few local shops, cows. Yeah. One of the creators went to my highschool, which I'm kind of proud of... And also kind of ashamed of...

I started working on a cover of "Mad World" by Tears for Fears n my acoustic guitar, inspired by the Michael Andrews & Gary Jules cover from Donnie Darko (greatest movie ever? maybe). I might post a video on Youtube and then here. I have an okay voice, and I'm not too great at guitar yet but I'm practicing, so...

This whole blog thing is more of an online journal of random-life-things anyway.

I have a few things to put up today if I have time. Working on resolutions. Also I might start posting reviews of things, movies and books and such. I dunno.
