Lol. The 70's. My mom's quote: "Everyone was either 6 years old or 40, and they were all stupid." (I apologize for the text slang but I mean... That was my reaction.)
Just a by the way, the 'o' key on the keyboard on this computer is nearly broken. I feel like Paul Sheldon in Misery. So I either miss it all the time or I go back through and fill in the blanks. Sorry if I miss one..
I spent this New Year's Eve in Albequerque New Mexico, and I watched Black Swan (with my parents... avoid that if you can...). Wow. Amazingly moving and creepy movie. Natalie Portman did such an impressively gorgeous job. Yes I do have a bit of a celebrity crush. But her character was amazing. *SPOILER ALERT* She killed herself for something she loved so passionately it needed to be perfect. *SPOILER OVER*
I'll post New Year's Resolutions when I a) think of them and b) give myself time to write them down.
This is a picture of my kitty I took a while ago, Sophie. She has a weird eye that is always boogery, and we should have named her Winky. Still. Adorable. It's a pretty good shot too, the light was cool
I was just flipping through channels aaaanndd... Twilight Zone marathon. Yes! I don't care if it's old, it's still scary...
And The Stand is playing soon too. One of my top three Stephen King books. The other two are Misery and Dead Zone. Sometimes his writing style gets on my nerves just the slightest bit (Mr. King, have you ever had an editor tell you to cut back on the details?) but those three are truly fantastic. I'm listening to Under the Dome on CD and... It's good, but its a bit too much at times.
And truly, I'm not the kind of person who likes bloodshed and I believe that murder and killing can and should be avoided at all costs. But Big Jim Rennie needs to have his brains blown out. Good god. His whole f***ing fascist dictatorship needs to END.
HE GOT A BONER FROM CRUSHING RUSTY'S HAND. WHAT. WHAT.
...I need to finish this book so I'm not so emotional all the time. I had a bit of a freak out when I was driving with my dad because I was so mad at, yes, fictional characters. Wow. Get a life.
South Park:
Lady in crowd: "What's wrong with their heads??"
Man next to her: "It's okay, their Canadian."
Dear god. South Park, how I love your obscenity. And really, anyone who's ever driven through South Park Colorado knows that there is less there then it exhibits in the show. A gas station, cows, maybe a Subway, cows, some houses miles and miles away from the highway, cows, a few local shops, cows. Yeah. One of the creators went to my highschool, which I'm kind of proud of... And also kind of ashamed of...
I started working on a cover of "Mad World" by Tears for Fears n my acoustic guitar, inspired by the Michael Andrews & Gary Jules cover from Donnie Darko (greatest movie ever? maybe). I might post a video on Youtube and then here. I have an okay voice, and I'm not too great at guitar yet but I'm practicing, so...
This whole blog thing is more of an online journal of random-life-things anyway.
I have a few things to put up today if I have time. Working on resolutions. Also I might start posting reviews of things, movies and books and such. I dunno.

Wonderful Christmas Time
Happy X-Mas imaginary people reading this! I already got a Beatles "Good Day Sunshine" tie and suspenders from my grandparents (I might post pictures later, with a story when I get around to calling them), so I'm in a Beatles-y mood. As if I'm ever NOT.
I'm sorry Paul McCartney, I adore you, but every time I hear this song I die a little on the inside.
Why oh why waste your amazing and brilliant singing and songwriting abilities on this song? Why?
Now I'll post something better to ease the pain.
Paul. You f***ing nailed this one. One of the best songs ever written in the history of rock music. Hell, maybe all music ever. Killer guitar solo by George too. A few things to say about the video: get lost Yoko, this is the Beatles. I don't care if you marry John but quit pissing Paul off, even now. Come on. Also, Paul, glad you lost the caveman look... very glad.

QWOP
It is about the desperate struggles of an Olympic runner who battles gravity, apparently gale force winds driving him backwards, a lack of tendons or bones in his legs, too many severe concussions, and his own chronic shivering. After about 4 hours of playing this incredible game, I am now able to move QWOP so that he drags his seemingly useless right leg behind him while humping the ground madly for about 50 meters, until the hurdle is knocked over and he humps that madly in place instead, choosing sexual relief over winning the Olympics. Or, I can get him to do a sort of high-stepping leaping run, still with his right leg dragging a little less uselessly behind.
Fortunately, whenever he gets a fresh concussion or a broken arm, the game reminds you that you participated and everyone is a winner. I definitely suggest this game to all who want to cuss themselves silly and enjoy wasting time doing absolutely nothing.
The only consolation I have is that when I finally get to the flipping 100 meters, I can stop playing.
update:
I FINISHED THE GAME. I never have to play it again EVER! This is fantastic. I managed to make QWOP hop unhurriedly, clumsily to the finish line. I took a picture with my phone, I'm so ecstatic.

This is why
Mt art teacher once told me that art is like chasing butterflies.
I sometimes understand this. Butterfly wings, glimpses of ideas that pass and flit away as quickly as they came. Like A Wrinkle In Time, when the fifth dimension is understood for only a second. And butterflies are beautiful creatures, until you see their faces up close and they look like aliens. Their wings, their wings are the beauty in them. Just like humans; we aren't very pretty creatures, but our hopes and emotions and creations and ideas, those are beautiful. Those are what make humans beautiful, those are our "butterfly wings". However freaking cheesey that is. That's what I think.
And sometimes we waste time seeing those ugly butterfly faces, when we only have to step back, or even look closer to see the real beauty.
...That last sentence shows one of my flaws, actually. I tend to see both sides of things so clearly, I can't decide which one I think is right.
And so. I will post pictures of my art and writing I've done and maybe clips of music and maybe just some plain old ramblings and arguments and such. Uhm... If anyone reads this, cool, but it's mostly for me, so I would be really really surprised if anyone comments or messages me... Okay!
